High resistance to abrasion with good dampening characteristics.


Grey cast iron is the most widely used iron-carbon alloy in casting. It offers high resistance to abrasion and excellent vibration dampening, making it ideal for heavy-duty applications. Thanks to its good pouring capability and easy machinability, it is cost-effective for complex shapes. Its unique graphite flake structure provides these benefits, though it also results in low ductility compared to other alloys.
